This morning I slept in yet discovered that I would have enough time to make it to yoga at my new gym. Win! I could try out my first class since I broke my foot and keep myself on track to meet my November goals! I grabbed a quick slice of toast and was out the door.
Yoga was really good. It was challenging at times. I stretched in ways I haven’t for the past 7 months and my body thanked me immediately. I couldn’t lay still for savasana but that has always been my weakness so I wasn’t surprised. All-in-all, it feels good to be back!
I headed over to Whole Foods afterward for some groceries. While I was shopping I bumped into a girl who was newly diagnosed with Celiac disease and spent some time talking with her and her parents. It was definitely an unexpected encounter but I was happy to help out someone new to gluten free eating and get some practice for my dream business.
Lunch was quick and easy as I was famished by the time I got home. My body is not used to running on a breakfast of simply a piece of toast! I had a salad with romaine, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and almonds and a serving of Amy’s black bean soup with some hot sauce and a few Food Should Taste Good olive chips.
It’s been a lazy afternoon of football, some cleaning, and good movies on TV.
Last night was another opportunity for practice, but this time for Thanksgiving at home! I met Fred (aka BFF Lauren) for Skinny Girl Margaritas for happy hour. We had lots to catch up on and a couple of things to celebrate. We soon realized it was past 7pm and we were ready for dinner. Enter: Mexicali Blues.
We stared with the chips and salsa but didn’t do too much damage on it.
I got the spinach enchiladas, no cheese, with black beans and rice. I ate one full enchilada, the stuffing from the other too plus the beans and lettuce.
And breakfast was the usual mix of Bob’s Red Mill hot cereal with blueberries, 1/2T peanut butter, and fig jam sauce (heated jam with a splash of maple).
Not sure what else is on tap for the day. I’m babysitting tonight and am debating what to do with myself until then.
Are you practicing for anything? Does practice really make perfect?
