Happy Mon Tuesday friends! It’s already the middle of the week. Doesn’t that feel great? Something else that truly felt wonderful was unplugging for the weekend – no blogs, email, Twitter, or laptop. It was glorious and relaxing and allowed me to fully enjoy my friend Bethany’s wedding weekend.
Official festivities began on Friday but Saturday was when the ball really got rolling. All of the bridal party met bright and early on Saturday to get manicures and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we hung around and relaxed and then it was time for the rehearsal!
We had a little happy hour before the Welcome Reception which was at Le Pain Quotidien in Old Town Alexandria. We had the whole restaurant and it was such a fun night!
Sunday morning I was up bright and early once again (on my own, it seems like my body didn’t want me to sleep) to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading back to Old Town to get ready for the Big Event. We got our hair done and then it was time to quickly get dressed, take pictures, sign the ketubah, and then the ceremony.
The whole day and night were so perfectly thought out and I could see Bethany and Aaron throughout the entire thing. The little details were perfect, there were a few surprises that got me teary-eyed as I stood in front of all the guests, and I’m ecstatic for Bethany and Aaron to begin their married life together!
It was time to celebrate and celebrate we did
We danced the night away and plenty of shenanigans ensued including being pushed out of an elevator. It was for a really good cause but still…
Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things and enjoy what’s left of a short work week!
