Not gonna lie, when I drove out of the parking lot after work yesterday I got really excited. And I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Tomorrow marks my first complete month back in Dallas and I’ve not yet had a chance to really feel settled. For the first time in over a month, I get to have a full weekend filled with friends, exercise, sleep, and relaxation. Sounds like perfection if you ask me!
I kicked off the weekend with a stop by my grandparents’ house on my way to my personal training session. Then last night I went to a new-to-me wine bar called Mercy. It was great!
On today’s agenda:
- meal planning. I seriously miss it.
- grocery stores
- exploring another new-to-me hot spot tonight with friends from school and DC!
What are you up to this weekend? Were you just as happy for 2 days off as I was?
I’m home for a quick weekend that is jam packed with a cousin’s wedding, car shopping, and moving home / prep. OH, there’s also a little excitement sprinkled here and there
I’ll be back with a recap and I owe you guys a bunch of posts. For now, I’m gone to Texas.
It’s not very often that Sunday night rolls around and I think that my weekend was absolutely perfect from start to finish. This weekend though fits the bill exactly.
Friday I kicked off the weekend with my last day of work at my old job and then headed across town to the Gluten Free Food Expo where I nibbled my way though many samples and had the chance to speak with reps from some amazing gluten free companies!
Later that night I headed to a friend’s for a girls’ night that was highlighted by sing-a-longs to Backstreet Boys and *N Sync youtube videos, girl talk, and lots of laughs!
Saturday I spent most of the day at the pool with 2 friends and then hit the gym before a night out in Adams Morgan. I’ve written about my friends’ love of one bar there, Town Tavern, and our whole group visited the spot once again.
I slept in again today, hit up another friend’s pool for some quality time together, grabbed bare essentials at Whole Foods and have spent the rest of the day cleaning, organizing, and packing. I’ve gotten rid of 3 garbage bags of trash, 2 of recyclables, and have started more clothing donation bags. My motto – if I don’t like it enough to ship it across the country it’s gone for good!
I’m definitely feeling the time crunch to get myself packed, organized, and start selling furniture, cookware and kitchen things, and small appliances, although I know I have some time. I just know that these next 2 weeks will fly by in the blink of an eye!
What are your glorious weekend essentials? And since I shared our Friday night fun, Backstreet Boys or *N Sync?
Happy 4th of July! The holiday has kicked off with a productive streak cooking and cleaning up for a little get-together this evening. Do you have any exciting plans?
This weekend has been fantastic – filled with friends, fun, and some relaxation too. Saturday I spent all day at my friend’s pool soaking in some [not humid] sunshine.
I had the chance to catch up with Victoria over gelato at Dolcezza. I got mojito and blueberry-lemon-thyme sorbets that were amazing!
This gorgeous package arrived today, thanks to a giveaway I won over on Marlow‘s blog
Yesterday I ventured over to the farmers market and then took myself on a little sightseeing adventure. It was hot but a great way to do something fun and “DC” and sneak in 6 miles of walking!
More to come later about today’s festivities and eats!
What’s been the highlight of your long weekend so far?
